The short version

  • taaake transcribes your calls on your Mac. We don't record audio: it becomes text on your Mac and is never stored or sent anywhere.
  • The transcript is saved only on your Mac. We, the people behind taaake, never receive the content of your calls. We have no servers that store it.
  • To suggest replies, correct your sentences, translate and write your report, taaake sends sentences (text, never audio) to the AI model you connect, with your authorization and through your own account.
  • On our website we only collect the email you give us to send you the download link.
  • We don't sell your data, we don't show ads and we don't use your calls to train AI models.

Who is responsible

taaake is operated by [LEGAL NAME] LLC, a company registered in [STATE], United States, with address [ADDRESS] ("taaake", "we"). For anything related to your data, write to hello@taaake.com.

What happens during a call

When you start a call, taaake listens to two channels on your Mac: your microphone (you) and the system audio (the other people on the call). This is how it works:

  • Transcription runs on your Mac with Apple's speech recognition. Audio is turned into text in memory and then discarded. It is never written to disk or sent over the internet.
  • taaake doesn't join the call as a participant or a bot, and it doesn't identify people by their voice: it only tells apart your microphone from the system audio.
  • The transcript, suggestions, corrections and reports are saved in a database on your Mac. We can't see them.
  • You can delete everything at any time in Ajustes › General › Borrar todo. Uninstalling taaake and deleting its data also removes them.

What goes to the AI model you connect

To generate suggestions, corrections, translations and the report, taaake sends sentences from the transcript (what you and the other people said, as text) to the AI model you connect in taaake. It never sends audio. By connecting a model, you authorize taaake to send it those transcripts for these purposes, and only for these.

The model is used through your own account or API key with its provider. The provider processes those requests under your agreement with it, not ours, including how long it keeps them and whether it may use them to improve its models. Check that in your provider's privacy settings.

Today taaake works with Claude, from Anthropic (United States): https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy. taaake is not made by, endorsed by or affiliated with Anthropic.

The other people on your call

taaake transcribes what the other people say. In many places, including several US states (such as California, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Washington), the European Union and Colombia, you need to inform them or get their consent before you transcribe a conversation. You are responsible for that.

Tell them before you start. For example: "I use an app that transcribes this call live on my Mac to help me with my English. It doesn't record audio." If someone doesn't agree, don't use taaake on that call.

If someone who was on a call with a taaake user wants their words deleted, they can ask that user: the transcript lives only on that user's Mac. We don't have it.

What we collect on taaake.com

  • Your email, when you ask us to send you the download link or to let you know when the Windows version is ready. We use it only for that. We send it with Resend.
  • Basic technical data that any website receives (IP address, browser, pages visited), processed by Vercel, which hosts the site, for security and to keep it running.
  • Anonymous, aggregated visit statistics (Vercel Web Analytics). They use no cookies and don't identify you.

taaake.com doesn't use cookies: none for advertising, none for analytics, none of any kind. We don't use trackers or third-party analytics. Since we don't track you across sites, the Do Not Track signal doesn't change anything.

Why we use your data

  • To send you the download link or the Windows notice you asked for (your request and your consent).
  • To answer you when you write to us (your request).
  • To keep the website secure and working (our legitimate interest).

If we ever want to send you news about taaake, we'll ask you first, separately, and every email will let you unsubscribe.

Who we share it with

We don't sell or rent your data. We only use these providers, which process it on our behalf:

  • Vercel Inc. (United States): website hosting and anonymous statistics.
  • Resend (United States): sending the download email.

Call content goes to the AI model only through your own account, as explained above. We may disclose data if the law requires it.

International transfers

Our providers are in the United States. If you are in Colombia, the European Union or another country, your email is transferred there. We rely on our providers' data protection terms and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Your email: until you ask us to delete it or unsubscribe, or for at most 2 years if you don't download taaake.
  • Server logs: the time Vercel keeps them for security (a few days).
  • Your calls: on your Mac, until you delete them. We never have them.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, revoke your consent, or object to its use, by writing to hello@taaake.com. We answer queries within 10 business days and complaints within 15 business days (Ley 1581 of 2012, Colombia), and always within the deadlines of your country's law.

You can also complain to your data protection authority: in Colombia, the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (www.sic.gov.co); in the European Union, the authority of your country.

Minimum age

taaake is a tool for work and is for people 18 or older. We don't knowingly collect data from minors. If you think a minor gave us their email, write to us and we'll delete it.

Security

Your calls never reach us, which is the best protection. The data on your Mac is protected by your Mac's security (your user account and FileVault, if you turn it on). Your API key is stored in the macOS Keychain. Our providers use encrypted connections (HTTPS).

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we'll update the date above. If the change is important (for example, if we ever started receiving call content), we'll tell you beforehand on the website and, if we have your email, by email. We will never start using your data for something new without asking you.
